Audrey Brodlie is a New York State certified special education teacher and school building leader. She has certification that expands from Birth to 6th grade students, both with and without disabilities. Audrey Brodlie served as a group teacher, instructional coach, and learning specialist at the Parkside School from 2014 to 2022. She provided remedial and supplemental instruction, modeled lesson planning and instruction for new and returning teachers, and served as a member of the leadership team. Her experience includes designing interventions for reading, math and writing as well as advocating for student needs in formal and informal settings. She also is an expert in curriculum design and individualized/responsive academic materials. Audrey provided staff training and professional development to teachers and worked to improve the organization for students and staff alike. Her experience working with students with a wide range of learning styles and variations is unmatched, particularly students who struggle with executive functioning, language processing and expression as well as attention.
Audrey uses a child centered approach to meet academic, behavioral and social-emotional goals. By establishing safe and positive relationships, Audrey analyzes student strengths while simultaneously addressing their challenges to close learning gaps. With over 8 years experience in New York City special education, Audrey is working as an Educational Therapist, tutor and consultant to support remote, hybrid, and in person learning. Her classroom and administrative experience supports the individualized work she does with children and all members of a child's team including families, related service providers and teachers/school building personnel in order to increase a child's confidence and gain a better understanding of their own learning profile. Areas of expertise include child development, attention challenges, dyscalculia, learning differences, literacy development, and executive functioning skill development. Current services include individual student sessions; collaboration with other specialists; parent sessions; and supporting school-based teams, teachers, or tutors.
Audrey graduated from Syracuse University Cum Laude with a major in Inclusive Elementary and Special Education. She went on to receive her masters in Early Childhood Special Education from Bank Street College of Education. Her latest academic achievement includes being nominated for an advanced certificate in School Building Leadership from Manhattan College.
